Tonight in the Ghettolands (uhhh, Meadowlands), Boston College plays Seton Hall (10-8, 2-5), and Big East history is on the line. By beating Providence by 12 on Tuesday, BC equaled its 1968-69 squad's school record for consecutive wins and the Big East record for best overall start, shared by Syracuse (1999-2000) and Connecticut (1998-99). Never before has a Big East team gone 20-0. The odds makers think BC will have their hands full, making them 2.5 favorites. Teams get up to play BC, hoping to knock off one of the last two undefeated teams.
Bostonist expects to see Craig Smith (TSN 1st Half All-American) go bananas in a physical matchup with SHU's leading scorer Kelly Whitney (6-foot-8-inch, 240-pound junior forward). The Pirates were handed a 61-51 loss at Georgetown Wednesday night. As Bostonist saw up close last Saturday, BC toyed with the Hoyas, and ended up winning by 15.
For an appetizer to the Patriots game Sunday night, flip on NESN at 7:30 and check out a great Boston team that is flying under the radar. Craig Smith, Jared Dudley, and Jermaine Watson will not disappoint.
