Today the New England Patriots take to the streets in Boston’s own Duck Tour boats for the championship parade. This will be Boston’s second World Championship parade within five months, but complacency is not setting in. All the speak of a new dynasty in football gets us excited to bring the Lombardi trophy home more often, with more parades. The Patriots will roll down Boylston Street starting around Copley Square and turn onto Tremont Street at Boston Common. There are a number of MBTA subway stops that will get you up to see some action. The festivities start at 11 a.m. this morning and will continue until the Duck Tour boats hit Stanford Street in Beacon Hill.
There’s no party at the City Hall Plaza like there was in 2002 and 2004 after the Patriots Super Bowl win. They’re adopting the popular Red Sox style parade, we don’t imagine that they’ll be sporting the brooms for the “sweep” like the Sox did. It will be a little colder this time around, the Red Sox parade saw 50° days and today Boston will be lucky to hit 40°. Bring your Pats hats.
