Bostonist thought the standard of living was on the rise for the strip of Commonwealth Avenue between the Boston University sprawl and Allston. Qdoba brought in some much-needed cheap burritos and Jasmine Sola brought in a poncho-filled warehouse store. BU’s Agganis Arena opened and is set to bring Duran Duran, Wrestlemania, and Sting to our fair city.
Lately though, everything seems to be going wrong. Someone was shot and killed outside the Paradise Rock Club early Friday morning. Bostonist wonders why we haven’t seen more information on what happened, especially since it was the fourth of five deaths in seven days.
Also, in yesterday’s early morning hours, a Commuter Rail train inbound from Worcester struck and killed two BU students. We may never know why they were on the fenced-off tracks, but Bostonist is with Gothamist, never go anywhere near the third rail.
