When Bank of America took over Fleet Bank last year, many were worried about their bank accounts and ATM fees. Others were more concerned about what they would rename the Fleet Center, which was once our cherished "Boston Garden." Yesterday, the new owner, Deleware North, has drummed up some publicity for the sports arena by allowing people to bid on Ebay to rename it for 24 hours. For one whole day, your arena will not only have your name, but it also includes some other perks: front-page mention on the website and phone system, as well as 4 luxury seats to that day's event. You can also score a photo collage of your day, including an actual ticket from your own box office. Now before you get more upset than you did over the high ATM fees, please note that all the proceeds go to charity, not the bank.Bids start at $25, but when this post went up, the eBay auction for the first day of naming rights, February 16, was up to $33,099. Right now they are listing dates thru February 27, which is only going for $2,050. What a deal!
Today the "Fox 25 News Center" is hosting the Boston Celtics versus the New York Knicks at 7:30pm. Won't this get a bit confusing each day?
