Pope John Paul II has gone back into the hospital with the flu. Doctors performed a tracheotomy to help him breathe. People all over Boston are praying for the health of the Holy Father. Bostonist wonders if they praying that’s done in the local Catholic Churches is like the praying that was done for Bruschi last week? The Vatican reports that the Pope is doing well, had a restful sleep, and is breathing and eating on is own. Bostonist hasn’t observed the pontiff at the top of his game for some time, but we hope that he’ll come out the hospital with more vigor this time. Not only are there Catholics praying for the Pope’s health in Boston but there is a line of scholars ready to comment on the matter. With Harvard Divinity nestled in Cambridge and a wealth of Academic institutions there are scholars, theologians, and religious leaders ready to comment. Media in Boston have been tapping into a variety of different people comment on the story. It makes sense; the Pope has been advised not to speak.
