The first blogger was admitted into the White House's briefing room with an official press pass today; Garrett Graff, a 23 year-old blogger on mediabistro.com's new blog, Fishbowl D.C., had attempted for the past week to grab a daily press pass of his own and finally his pleading paid off. Graff was not truly impressed with the environment of the room, describing it as "dilapitated" and "cramped," adding insult to injury by calling the whole thing pretty unremarkable. So why did the White House give in to the blogger's request? Well, he admits to calling 20 times, which led to certain news organizations picking up the story. Perhaps the government just gave him a pass to keep him quiet, or they thought they'd give Graff, a past editor of the Harvard Crimson and who comes from a line of journalists, a chance to prove himself. Either way, it is a great sign of things to come for those who blog and Bostonist will be happy to take a press pass to Fenway any day, Theo.

please, enough with the i
i think the lower case i is a useful tool for those who are pretty much saying "do not take what i am writing seriously." that is why i use it extensively. not that anyone is clamoring for my voice an any topic, really.
anyway, the white house has been issuing press credentials to some pretty shady organizations recently, too, re: talon news.
