Bostonist reported last Monday on a rare display of civility in Massachusetts politics. We also predicted that in no time at all, that civility would end. Well, we were right.
On Thursday, Robert L. Collamore a former Republican candidate for State Legislature from the 12th Hampden District, plead innocent to charges of assault and battery against a supporter of his opponent. The charges include claims that Collamore cut the nose and eye of John Ryan and damaged his truck with campaign signs. Ryan also faces charges stemming from the fight -- including assault and battery with a dangerous weapson.
Back to Massachusetts politics as usual. And this was all just for an off-year state legislative race. Bostonist can't wait to see what excitement emerges as next year's Gubernatorial race heats up.
