Big Dig Completion brings the End of Times

Bostonist was startled to learn that when new connection from I-90 West to I-93 South opened this past Saturday, the Big Dig was 96% complete. The opening itself wasn't the most surprising thing (well, actually it kinda is), but more so was the fact that the with this event the Big Dig was 96% complete, and is actually slated for final completion in September.

Yes, September. This September. September, 2005.

But, lest ye faithful Bostonist reader forget recent controversies regarding tunnel leaks. Given the history of this project, we wouldn't be surprised if the litigation and subsequent repairs of the ever increasing number of leaks push the completion date even later (and of course, price even higher).

But it's really all a moot point when once considers that the Big Dig actually represents the coming Armageddon. According to "T. Chase," the owner of the Revelation13.net website, when you take into account the fact that the price of the Big Dig has increased by a factor of 6.66; that Boston is home to a number of high-tech firms which were at fault for the "Millennium Bug;" that the two planes which crashed into the World Trade Center on 9/11 took off from Logan; and that Harvard advised Yeltsin on Russia's transition to Capitalism...it can only lead to one thing -- Hell.

Yes, while we Bostonians thought the Big Dig was just an über expensive pain in the ass, Mr. Chase points out that we were indeed ushering in the end of times. Oy, what a burden.
