In this city of ridiculously high rents and $10 drinks, Bostonist is frequently broke. We're lucky to have an amazing live music scene and lots of artsy and cultural happenings to choose from, but it can be tough to do without a serious hit to our wallet. Penny-pinching does have its rewards though, because we're always on the lookout for fun and free (or very cheap) events. As Bostonist previously noted, Boston's colleges and universities are a great
resource when you're looking to go the miserly route. We were reminded of this last Friday when we had a chance to see one of Berklee's many great jazz ensembles for the lovely price of $0. That sparked our curiosity. so we wandered over to the Berklee site to see what else they have going on this week. Question: How many free live music events can one college offer in a day? Answer: Eleven. Bostonist was particularly interested in the "Music of Bob Marley" concert this afternoon. Dear Diary: Jackpot.
Music of Bob Marley, presented by the Music and Life of Bob Marley performance studies class, today at 4:00 at the David Friend Recital Hall (921 Boylston St. on the first floor of the Genko Uchida Building).
