On the corner of Brookline Ave and Landsdowne is Patrick Lyon's new multi-million dollar monolith. Game On! opened a couple weeks ago and Bostonist was there after spending the morning in the ER. The line was down the street, yet there were more employees inside than patrons. The first floor is a spacious and tasteful room with a large bar and restaurant feel. When you descend the stairs into the basement and pass the gift shop (?) sensory overload hits. There are over 90 plasma screen tv's and a huge bar.
Game On! is 12,000 square feet and has a cavernous feel. Service is provided by Boston's best looking folks and the menu has some interesting items. The pesto bacon pizza was greasy but decent, the burgers got a thumbs down, and the nachos didn't have enough cheese. Bostonist didn't try the filet mignon or the steak tips.
On the whole Game On! is a unique experience. Compared to the other cramped meathead dumps in the neighborhood, Game On! has better clientele and is big enough for your group to sit down, eat, drink, and chill. Overall, the best reason to go is the waitresses.
