Last week Bostonist was clutching our iPods on the T. This week we’re clutching our cats and dogs protecting from coyote attacks. In July we’ll be watching out for the Tiger. Really, no bears involved. The Macworld conference has announced plans for MacIT portion of their annual conference. Focus will be on the new version of OSX (10.4) dubbed Tiger and all those other nifty Mac gadgets Steve Jobs can dream up. The details announced today delve into the world of Mac networking and information technology applications for the Mac platform. This goes a little beyond syncing your iPod with your powerbook. Bostonist’s was immediately drawn presentation is hosted by Dave Pooser and Mike Sebastian and titled "Neutered Admins."
There is sure to be a crowd clutching their iPods this summer at the Hynes when Macworld offers free music downloads from Birdsongs of the Mesozoic, who will headline the music festival. A partnership with Berklee will involve music developed using Mac software and compatible hardware. In fact, there’s an entire track dedicated to making music with your Mac. Sessions are also going to focus on digital photography and image manipulation. Frankly, the last cool thing Bostonist did with a Mac was actually on an Apple IIe in elementary school when we made a Lego cart travel across the room using Lego/Logo. We understand things have evolved quite a bit since then.
