Coyotes, Your Days Are Numbered.

coyote.jpg According to the Globe today, Boston's got itself it a coyote problem. Poor little Maggie, an 18 pound West Higland terrier was killed in her Jamaica Plain back yard. Bostonist often longs for a four-legged friend, but the thought of walking it overwhelms us, so we can't even fathom having to protect it from wild animals. According to Animal Control, coyotes are protected in the state, so we're stuck with the pesky critters. Unless Councilor John Tobin gets his way. The Councilor also saw a coyote in his West Roxbury neighborhood and he's not happy. He plans to go before the City Council today to make an exception to the state law for the Boston area before someone else gets bitten. We're with Tobin on this one; coyotes are scary. Luckily, we don't have any crazy animal sighting stories, but maybe some of our readers would like to share?
