Celtics Push it to a Game 7

Bostonist will be the first to admit that we don't give our boys in Celtic Green the coverage they deserve. Sure, we mentioned Antoine's return mid-season, which has definitely put the Celts on the path to the playoffs. They have been battling the Indiana Pacers this past week and pushed it in last night's game in Indianapolis. With team owners (both Celtics legends back in the 80s: Larry Bird for the Pacers and Danny Ainge for the Celtics) looking on, Game 6 had some high and low points; the lowest point being Paul Pierce's ejection after drawing his second technical foul in the last seconds of the 4th quarter. The Pacers' Tinsley threw a jab into Pierce's neck, which Paul obviously didn't like by responding with angry elbow throw. The officials discussed it and then tossed him out. Paul stripped off his jersey and walked off. Dramatic, yes...but he was sporting some sort of bandage on his head in post-game interviews.

Fortunately, the Celts were able to pull out ahead in overtime and won 92-89. Game 7 on Saturday brings them back to Boston's own Fleet Center (at least we think it's named that...at least until July 1, when it becomes the TD Banknorth Garden). Saturday's game could also be Pacer's Reggie Miller's last if his team loses; Miller is retiring this year after playing his whole career of 18 seasons with the Pacers. His retirement is touching, but Bostonist still wishes the Celts luck this weekend.
