what is this shim-shammery?!? i stand by KTM as a quality album. this is a terrible comparison, but i suppose rubber soul was overrated compared to revolver? yankee hotel foxtrot was overrated compared to being there? oh wait, it was, sorta. ya'll are still crazy.

Indeed the contrast between now and GCT days is odd, but even then I was shocked I hadn't heard their first two albums when they came out. And given that they quickly became my fave band, I'll take belated recognition over none. Listening to the new LP now... like it, but think it may be as uneven as Moonlight.

In comparison to Girls Can Tell, Kill The Moonlight does not deserve the unanimous hosannahs it got. It hangs together a lot less effectively as an album. The tinymixtapes review is pretty apt. But! New Spoon is awesome and I was walking out of Newbury Comics like a star. Sounds so good on the headphones!

overrated? bah. the new weezer album is overrated. kill the moonlight was just damn good. ed hasn't seen much (any) advance press for the new spoon album, but ed hasn't kept up on his alternative music press the way ed would like, so there you go. is that what spoon looks like? how does that voice come out of that guy?

I caught Edwards last night at the Iron Horse in Northampton, but haven't had time to post a review. The guitarist is her husband, though I couldn't see rings on either of 'em. Opener Mary Gautier is an interesting bird, as well...
