Zines, Vegan Cookies, and Fleas, Oh My!

redscarf.jpg Bostonist's usual yard sale attendance has been way down this season, what with the rain and all, but that just means we have more money to drop at the fifth annual Punk Rock Flea Market this Saturday. From noon to six, Mass Art's gym turns into a crafty wonderland, with local record labels, screenprinters, and crafty citizens selling their original creations for the masses. Oh, and they have DJ's and a raffle for a Beck-decorated bike (proceeds go the Kirsten Malone Fund). We're just hoping to find more Edward Gorey magnets this year.

If the weather stays nice (yeah, right), we're also going to venture out to the newly opened Papercut Zine Library at 45 Mt. Auburn Street in Cambridge. You can browse through a thousand zines or make your own. This weekend is also Cutting Edge of the Campfire over at the 47 year old Club Passim. Dozens of folk musicians are playing short and group sets today through Monday, but we'll admit that we really go for the mexican bean pizza.

  • The hilarious thing about this post is that, yesterday, I ripped up the scarf pictured and turned it into a hat.
