You do know that Jonathan Richman is playing at the Middle East tonight, right? It's always fun to trace the influence that Richman's music has on writers, musicians, and filmmakers. Bostonist is unsure as to whether the show is sold-out or not, call our boys at the Middle East. The show was underpublicized and it's intimate, (relevant IMDB quote from our man, accuracy always questionable: "I like it when a gig is intimate. I don't think it's good to go out at night and have everything be all alienating, so if people come to the show, let's have some fun.") but then again, the man is a legend and has one of the best albums ever under his belt. Radio on!

bostonist loves a lot of things
Bostonist loves you, ed!
I wish Jonathan would carry my books and walk me home from Natick High School.
I'm in love with Massachusetts and the neon when it's cold outside and the highway when it's late at night I'm in love with rock & roll and I'll be out all night
Now it's eight o'clock in Boston.
And Filene's there has just locked up for the night.
But it's clear sky and the stars shine.
I'm lookin' right up at them.
Isn't it time for us to fly into life's mystery?
Time to go somewhere we've never seen.
Fly into life's mystery.
