In this post election edition of Kerry Watch Bostonist follows a popular theme of the Kerry camp. from 2004. In an act of faith Kerry has been keeping the fight alive, even if he's conceded. No, conceded, not conceited (though he might be that too). Kerry has kept open presidential aspirations by reaching out to his national email base from the 2004 election to keep up the message.
Back in October during the second debate between Bush and Kerry we heard him say something in the dry manner that plagued his campaign, we heard it over and over again as he tried to drive the point home, our ports aren’t safe:
And I'm going to put in place a better homeland security effort. No Mr. Kerry, Bostonist doesn’t feel safer. Today’s Globe reported on how President Bush pledged to increase the public transportation system in light of the incidents in London two weeks ago. Little did they know that things would be shaken again today in the UK. With Kennedy speaking out on Capitol Hill about all things liberal it’s nice to have the comfort quote from Kerry in the Reuters report picked up by the Boston Globe:
Look, 95 percent of our containers coming into this country are not inspected today. When you get on an airplane, your bag is X- rayed, but the cargo hold isn't X-rayed. Do you feel safer?
The administration has been asleep at the switch while shipload after shipload of cargo goes uninspectedThanks John, now how abouts some legislation? We'll take some from Ted if he's giving too.
