This isn’t a retraction. We still like teasing the Boston Herald as the number two paper in the two-paper town. But we’ll take a minute to turn away from the teasing and tip our hat to the Herald. It’s not just the Inside Track we enjoy but the photojournalism that David Goldman is bringing half way across the world. From the Gaza Strip the images from the Herald better illustrate than words alone. Bostonist has tried to understand the Israel-Palestine conflict for many years. Talking with friends who have worked with NGO’s on both sides, native Palestinians, and Israelis who have served the Israeli army. Alas, Bostonist resigns ourselves to be interested observers; we don’t take a side either way. Don’t get us wrong. we still wish for peace in the Mid-East, but can’t make a value judgment on where the compromise should come from.
We do appreciate the imagery that is coming out form the Boston Herald. We feel it to be a much more vivid imagery of people in conflict, people losing their homes. Again, we’re not taking a side on if it’s right or wrong for Israel to be pulling out of Gaza, but seeing it helps us understand it better.
