I read in an article abou the Assembly Square plans that they are pushing very hard to get an Orange Line T stop right at Assembly Square. I would imagine they would want to make it more bike friendly too, although I'm not sure about that. From what I understand the larger plan is to have shopping, business, and resdential buildings all in a pretty little community there, with it's own T stop. Nice idea... let's see if it happens.

i've never been to assembly sq. i haven't been to may places that i can't get to by "T". i also ride my bike everywhere and i can't ride my bike to a super shopping mall and hope to bring home some bulk items on my bike. i guess this is more of a rant that i would like to own a car but i can't afford it.

meh.

i used to live right across the McGrath from Assembly Square. there were a lot of people who lived in their cars who parked in the dead mall lot. my own car was stolen twice from right in front of my house. i got it back both times, though, with surprisingly little damage.

i can't even begin to tell you how many accidents i saw on 28. the lack of charm in assmmbly square is staggering. considering that somerville has pretty much no draw for shoppers, i guess i can see why they'd want some nice stores insead of a festering crime-filled eyesore. i have no confidence that assembly square will succeed in any way, however.

the good times emporium is amazing. it has like 10 bars and there are children everywhere. it's like if irish immigrants owned disneyland. the laser tag thing is awesome. is it still there? i miss its sleazy charm.
