Thank God the women of Boston have to ask the governemt for permission to defend themselves from scum like this (and pay a fee for the privilege). Gun control: A rapist's best friend.

No, not many of the cabs are dark colored SUVs. That was my fault in not clarifying...the first victim accepted a ride from this guy driving the SUV. The second victim believed that the white car was a cab (or looked like one) and got into the car. Scary, indeed.

Are many of the cabs in the Boston area just regular, dark vans? Another idea is to call the car service companies and get car numbers from them - that way you can confirm you are getting into one of their cars... But this is terribly freaky.
