Wednesday Webcasts: Bostonist Rates Benjamen Walker's Theory Of Everything

ZTOE1.jpgBenjamen Walker's Theory Of Everything is actually a radio show broadcast on the Boston College based WZBC. Often compared to This American Life, Benjamen Walker's Theory Of Everything is a show that brings stories such as American Exceptionalsim, Kenmore Square, and the Cost Of Living to public attention. A combination of politics and history and sprinkled with some radio drama Benjamen is one of the few men pioneering on the radio and podcasting!

3-75_5343.gifA thirty-minute show is often called the perfect podcast length as so many people have a thirty-minute commute to work. True or not thirty-minutes seems like the perfect length for this show which while is very informative can also become a little dry. No big names of this show either. All stories of local color are from well-spoken individuals with interesting stories to tell.

Different parts of Benjamen Walker's Theory Of Everything will appeal to different people. A definite experiment is the mixture of radio drama and historical documentation. Interviews documenting Kenmore Square are very engaging and interesting but often the radio drama seems to drag. Clearly they are well produced and some one else is going to find the drama more engaging then the historical talks. Over all a podcast you should definitely try even if you will not love every second of it.
