Welcome, Miamist, to our family here on the Internets. The Fresh Prince’s parents just didn’t understand him when he was kicking it with DJ Jazzy Jeff back in West Philly. We’re pretty sure that he overcame that hurdle and started ‘‘bouncin in a club where the heat is on’ down in Miami, even before the Willenium. We’re happy to see that the Gothamist network is also ready to make the leap from Philly (launched only hours before our youngest sibling, Parisist) to Miami.

Bostonist can only imagine that the editorial team of Rachael Bohrer and J.R. Biersmith is hunkered down with plywood covering all their windows, keeping the site pumped with all due Wilma-watching juice. Their ears are plugged to keep out the awful sounds of every car alarm in the city. Bostonist is here, bracing for our Wilma-inspired Nor’easter, wondering if there is any chance Miamist is having their Hurricaine Party at the Versace Mansion.
