After seriously almost being knocked over in the wind tunnel in front of the John Hancock tower this lovely Tuesday morning, Bostonist just wants you all to be careful out there. After pummeling our newest friends in Florida yesterday, Hurricane Wilma has decided to pay us a visit up north and brought some of her friends. Similar to "The Perfect Storm" of 1991, which had three storms combining into one big massive one, the storm today is Wilma, along with Tropical Depression Alpha and another intense storm from the mid-Atlantic. Forecasters are predicting that this Nor'easter won't be as bad as the one in 1991, which killed six local fishermen and destroyed towns on the coast, but we should expect some crazy weather today. Eastern Massachusetts is supposed to get 2-3" of rain (with some areas getting up to 5") and have wind gusts up to 65 m.p.h. There is a high wind warning until 6:00 p.m. tonight and a flood warning all day.
So hold tight to your umbrella if you can and feel privileged, kids. Boston is expected to break a record for most rainfall for the month of October! We're holding strong at 7.59" already!
