For future baseball seasons, Charley's on Newbury (at Gloucester) has an incredible downstairs bar.

Charles Sarkis (Back Bay Rest. Group) has a rule that the flagship restaurant show sports downstairs if they're broadcast. Sound is always on, too.

During baseball season, Red Sox have priority; during the overlap months, baseball will get a few screens, and share with basketball/football/hockey.

Three large HDTV's, three regular and a mini TV in the corner bay.

It's a very grown-up bar too, very laid-back atmosphere, different from a "sports bar." Jeans and a sweater are okay, but it's not a Daisy B's or Pour House by any means.

Lot's of local restaurant industry people drown there at the end of their shifts, a few regulars, and businesspeople sent over by the nearby hotels.

Check it out next year (they even show spring training games if you ask).

Beer Works was empty and they wouldn't even turn the damn sound on. Cask n' Flagon was much better. Only a few other fans there, but at least there was somebody. We're all going nuts right now. Two curses broken on two Sox in two years. Hot damn.

Yeah, thanks for the effort anyway. I think we're (we being me and one other fan) going to start at the Beer Works and then move over to the Cask n' Flagon if the Works isn't going b-a-n-a-n-a-s. Fellow displaced Chicagoans, feel free to join us.

Boston Beer Works has the game on! At least they did when I was there. I am cheering for the Astro's still for two reasons 1) I don't want to hear about the Sox being world series champs...and its not us 2) I hate Carl Everett. That is all.
