Bostonist Overheard

It’s been a quiet week in Boston. With all the rain followed by some chilling temperatures it’s not the leaf peeping dream we imagine for the Fall season. Without pen and paper on the roam Bostonist has heard some gems, but let the rain wash away any recollection. Before time rolls back an hour this weekend Bostonist and we catch up on our sleep we wanted to share the few things we overheard this week.

Girl 1: He's a meat-eater.
Girl 2: I didn't know Mark was gay?
Girl 1: What? I meant he wasn't vegan!

Guy on cell phone on Orange line:
Yes Ma. ... I'll get the ham Ma... and the bread... MA! ... Yes Ma. ... and the lettuce.... MA! No Ma... Fine Ma. ... Yes, I'll get the Brady poster.

On the Red Line a little boy looks at his mother who is fanning herself with a discarded Metro:
Boy: Mom, you could just take off your jacket.
Mother: Yeah, but it’s not that kind of heat.

In a BU computer lab:
Girl 1: So in my dad's infinite stupidity, he forgot that he already paid my last months rent. I checked my bank account today and there's $800 for this months and $800 for next months.
Girl 2: What are you gonna do?
Girl 1: Oh I'm keeping that bastard's money.
Girl 2: Yeah, it's totally karma police.
Girl 1: I know! [pause] Hmm, if someone is listening to me right now, they probably think I'm a spoiled brat.

We’ll keep on listening but we know outrageous statements are made (in and out of context) each and every day. Bostonist would like your ears helping us listen in on conversations around the Hub. Send them to us at bostonistoverheard at gmail dot com.
