The UFN Show hits Fifty

UFNShow.jpg
The UFN show has done what so few podcast shows have done. Reaching the Fiftieth show is a landmark in any field and with podcasting still in its youth it stands as a monumental accomplishment. Bostonist has a special place in our hearts for the UFN Show. They brought us not only our first webcast hate mail but also our first podcast collaboration. The UFN Show has allowed Bostonist to take over their 50th show and answer all the questions we were dying to ask.

UFN was not only one of the earliest podcasts but one of the first gay podcasts. These queer pioneers did not fit in to what others were talking about when they started and they hope to continue their ability to cover topics that other people have not covered. Even to this day they are the only podcast with a gay virgin as well a a gay married couple and one of the few podcasts who has a straight guy in the mix as well.

Their fan base has also helped to build the show. Even from the very beginning they had a hundred listeners and that number has only grown with podcasting now in the mainstream. Their listeners are international with many inviting UFN to visit them in countries all over the world. Even with open invitations aboard what they find most surprising is the number of strait men who listen and enjoy the show. Though they do find it disappointing when they discover that not all of the hot male listeners they meet are gay.

While in the beginning they were were very unpolished and disorganized they have come a long way to be were they are today. The sound quality has improved along with their ability to not talk over each other. While UFN points out that these improvements might only be because they are not as drunk, Bostonist knows it's the hard work and practice that makes the difference.

Boston is dear to the UFN Show and they love how it can feel like such a small city some times. Boston is also one of the most progressive cities in America and has been the home of many firsts. The UFN show truly basks in the glow of acceptance that Boston has. While our state motto is Spirit of America they hope it is also remembered as the cradle of the revolution and how it continues to be revolutionary to this day.

Bostonist can not thank the UFN Show enough for granting us such wonderful access to their show. While we have only covered the surface of what we asked them you can hear all the questions Bostonist asked on the UFN Show web site. Tell them Bostonist sent you and that we think they're wicked awesome.

I never knew that this show existed and the article (Do you guys call them articles? Or something else?) was really informative. But... it's "dying" not "dieing" and "straight" not "strait." I don't think that this is what this comment box is for, but it was bothering me. Anyway - go, progressive UFN! The show sounds really cool and I'll definitely check it out.
