Business podcasts are different from podcasts put out by your everyday person. Companies put time and effort in to podcasting to attract attention and bring more business to the table. Blogging has been doing the same thing for businesses for three or four years now. Just as blogging taught business that you need to bring interesting content to reader podcast listeners demand the same level of quality.
Boston Realty News is a blog that just started to podcast recently. Realty companies are a great example of businesses that should podcast as they are untrustworthy to begin with. To often you feel the pressure to buy from a realtor just looking to get rid of the property and get a nice fat commission check. The Boston Realty News does not take this opportunity to open up and show people that they are not just out for profit. Instead they have been podcasting realty listings. If done correctly this might even been interesting but instead it's one of the most boring podcasts Bostonist has listened to.
Clocking in at just under ten minutes this podcasts can't be covering that much ground. In a city the size of Boston it should take an extremely long time to read all the listings. Who would really want to listen to listings that are just read aloud not to mention listing that are not even complete? Buying a house is a very personal experience and can get very specific depending on where you want to live and the price you want to pay. If you are looking to buy there is little chance this podcast will be very helpful. Bostonist hopes that Boston Realty News finds new ways to bring better information to the public instead of just reading to them. Bostonist learned how to read years ago and doesn't really need help.
