Wednesday Webcasts: Bostonist Rates The BC

fullcast.jpgThe BC is a student production from Boston College about a rough kid from Boston University who ends up at BC. This webcast has what many webcasts stay away from such as acting, writing, and editing. Most don't want to such a large amount of time taken up in post production. That is why so many webcasts are interview shows, how to shows, or even just shows talking about the news. The BC is hopefully where the world is headed now that the iPod video is out. The BC shows how close we are to a day where any one can truly make a top notch show.

4-0_4444.gifWith a story line proudly riped off from The OC this webcast is clearly one of the strongest web productions online to date. Bostonist actually likes this show even more then The OC since all the horrible plot has been cut out. The BC focuses on snappy writing and simple plot construction. The writing is extremely strong and the acting is also nothing to scoff at either. Even the inside BC/BU jokes are not so obscure that people from outside the area would not be able to enjoy the humor.

The show does have a few weaknesses that might keep it from TV syndication. Some of the timing of jokes are off as well as scenes that some times go too long. Most times this is more to do with editing then writing or the actors. Sound can also get in the way of the show as it can be a little inconsistent. This is a common problem with user created content and while The BC is better then most Bostonist is holding them to a high standard. The sound track is amazing with really great song selection although some times the music can overpower a scene. When it come down to it with a good editor and sound technician this show is ready for the world to see. The creator, Joe Sabia is going to go far in this world and Bostonist can't wait to see what he does next.
