A Little Bit of Christmas in Cambridge

poster222.jpgYes, we know it’s cliché to love the Christmas movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life” but every time we see lil’ Zuzu talk about an angel getting its wings, Bostonist goes straight into tears. The1946 Frank Capra film is like a bad habit we just can’t kick. Well, if you are jonesing for some George Bailey vs. Mr. Potter action tonight, the Brattle Theater is showing the black and white film tonight at 7:15 p.m. for $10. Sure, some may think that ticket price is a bit much for a old Christmas standard, but remember that the Brattle is still fighting to remain open in 2006; they are hoping to raise over $400,000 to preserve the 52-year-old theater from being turned into some Starbucks or something. If you can’t make it there tonight, the Brattle is also showing matinees of the film through Sunday.

And if you are feeling like doing some Cambridge holiday shopping after the movie, local stores in Inman Square are hosting the "Shop Inman by Moonlight" event tonight, when shops stay open until midnight with lots of free goodies to be shared. There will be beer tastings at Bukowski's, free cookies at City Girl Cafe, half-priced apps at Ole Mexican Grill from 7-9p.m., and Bostonist's favorite coffee shop, 1369 Coffee House, will be handing out free cider to you and dog biscuits for your pup. Improv Boston is also hosting its 5th Annual Holiday Spectacular at 8p.m. (tickets are $15). (Check out the website to get a complete listing about tonight's event.)
