Some spots in Boston are unique even when they’re not lit up. For a while we’ve referred to the house near the Arborway and Centre St. rotary as the Castle. Part Tudor design, part castle and no moat the house sits majestically during the summertime near the Arnold Arboretum and in the winter it’s all a-twinkle with more lights than we’ve seen just about anywhere outside of Somerville. Since Bostonist was cruising the Arbor/Jamaica/Riverway without our camera Bostonist’s good friend Michelle Dean snapped some photos for us. She’s an amateur photographer so the luminosity of the Castle speaks for itself her flash was barely used.

Mickey and his Friends are out to play. They don't all really match ('tis to say they're no Goof Troop)

The snow globes don't seem to do as well when they've been coated with snow and ice. Quite a collection of inflateable icons on this lawn. Though we've only been by this spectacle at night they must all look a bit wimpy by day when they deflate without the power turned on. At least they haven't removed the inflatables out of fear the Shrewsbury bandits may move to Boston.

Sports Redux: One Goal, And One Goal Only

I drive by this everyday/night. I was wondering when someone would spot it for Bostonist. It's insane.
Andrea, glad we've seen what you've seen. We're always taking suggestions on spots we may not know about so send them in (pictures or not, we'll try and send out a "field reporter" to snap some of our own). Bonus points if you point to your own house spectacularly decorated!
I blogged about a house in Baltimore, Maryland that is decorated over-the-top for Chanukah:
