You people are idiots. 1) Don't even tell me if you had the chance to change jobs for 20% more money you wouldn't. 2)Where were you going apeshit when they lowballed him with that first offer of 3 years /$27 mil. $9 mil per season? The same amount you are willing to pay for Mike Lowell's sorry ass when everyone on the planet knows they ONLY reason you took him from FLA was to get Beckett. Both Theo (they offered him the same amount Tampa's GM makes?)& Johnny would still be here if Management had just come in with a strong first offer and let them know they were wanted. Loyalty is a two-way street and maybe we wouldn't be watching the Clemens, Boggs, Pedro's and Damon's of the world leave year after year if the BoSox front office figured this out.

I'd add Matsui to that list, too -- he killed the Sox in the last Boston-New York series. That is *not* going to be a fun lineup to face next year. My only hope is that when Damon gets rid of the beard and long hair, his power will go with them, just as it did with Samson.

My roommate, who happens to be a Yankees fan, also shared that the New Yorkers aren't going to welcome ol' Johnny boy with open arms...or that media-lovin' wife next season...Johnny, it was fun while it lasted. On a side note, how much do you think those highlighted locks of his are going to fetch on eBay when Steinbrenner orders him to cut it all off?
