Romney Not So Wild About Massachusetts Media, or Massachusetts

RomneySheep.jpgBoy oh boy, Mitt is really pulling out all the stops these days. After announcing he wouldn't seek reelection because he'd accomplished everything he set out to do, the governor tells the Globe today that the liberal Massachusetts media unfairly characterize him as conservative, and tells the Herald he wishes he'd never run for office in this dumb Commonwealth anyway. Um, thanks, Guv. That really gives us a lot of faith that your heart will be in the job for the next year.

The Globe, true to form, reports Romney's complaints about how the local media wrongly say that he has shifted to the right since taking office, and then, well, gives examples of how he's shifted to the right since taking office. The Herald, despite having joined the Globe in calling for Romney's early resignation, plays it a little cooler, focusing on the Michigan governor that Mitt coulda shoulda woulda been if only he'd known how ungrateful us liberal, America-hating, Massholes could be. For our part, Bostonist is glad Mitt is sticking around, because he's an easy mark for snarky commentary, and we know all too well that everyone needs a fallback punching bag.
