Since there isn't much going on in the news today (aside from the horrible mixup in West Virginia), Bostonist thought we'd toss some random news your way.
Ex-Sox Player Onto Bigger and Better Things? Mo Vaughn is coming back to Boston but not in a Red Sox uniform. The former heavy hitter, who retired from baseball in 2003, has been given the green light to proceed with opening his own high-end car wash on Route 1 in Attleboro this spring. The question still remains if he’ll be the one trying to sell you that extra pricey streak-free wash.
Santa Loses His Head: Bostonist’s hometown happens to be at the top of the noontime broadcast over at Channel 4. It seems that someone wasn’t happy with a 6 ft. tall Saint Nick and have gone to such lengths to even decapitate him on a front lawn. The thought of Santa without a head is quite scary, but the in-depth news coverage on it is a bit funny.
The Atlantic Heads South: The Atlantic Monthly magazine, which has been published in Boston for 149 years, has finally left us behind for bigger things in Washington D.C.
He Don’t Get No Respect: Tom Brady is pissed (well, maybe just miffed) and stated that the Patriots don’t get the respect they deserve…in fact they’ve been the most disrespected team in the league this year. Bostonist guesses that those 3 Superbowl titles in four years can leave some with a bit of jealousy. We’re hoping this will just get the boys more revved up for Saturday night’s game against the Jaguars.
Not Sure if This is Royalty: Massachusetts boy Todd Grinnell is joining the NBC lineup on Thursday night as one of the “Four Kings” tomorrow night at 8:30p.m. While the idea of four single guys in their twenties-post-college life trying to figure things out sounds like it could be entertaining, the Herald certainly doesn’t think so.
