Off the Presses: T.G.I.F. Edition

friends.jpgManny Being…Just Wishy-Washy: Manny Ramirez tops the news this morning as he claims that he’s going to continue playing with the Sox. “I’m staying in Boston, where I’m familiar with the system and where I have a lot of friends, especially David Ortiz.” In other Sox Nation news, Manny’s B.F.F., Big Papi, is expected to also stay with the team.

State Dems Playing Hard Ball: Senator John Kerry is talking a tough game this morning as he bashes the state’s handling of witnesses in what has been a record high year for homicides in the city. Senator Edward Kennedy is gearing up to take on Supreme Court Nominee Alito at next week’s Senate confirmation hearings.

Fidelity Heading South: Fidelity announced that it will be relocating 1,500 Massachusetts employees to other New England offices, with most going down to their Rhode Island office, gradually through 2008. Fidelity, which is one of the state’s largest employers, claims that it will continue to keep its corporate headquarters here.

Romney Calls Out Reilly in Cover Up: It seems that Gov. Romney didn’t like Attorney General Reilly’s attempt to hush up the investigation into the involvement of alcohol in the deadly Northboro crash, which killed two teenage sisters. The girls were the daughters of a campaign contributor of Reilly, who is the planning on running for governor once Mitt leaves.

Hot Stove, Cool Music, Take Six: Theo Epstein will be coming out of his bunker (and from his recent vacation to Hawaii) to take the stage with Bronson, Lenny, Juliana Hatfield, and others this weekend at the Paradise. This fundraiser is the sixth so far to raise money for Epstein’s Foundation to Be Named Later. (Bostonist also heard the rumor on the radio this morning that Theo will definitely be back with the Sox in the next few weeks…is he being wishy-washy like Manny?)
