See Them Again, or For the First Time: Weekly Music Picks

musicbox.jpgForecast is for sun to out during the day most days this week. The temperature may be dipping a bit. Clear skies in February usually mean cold nights. Bostonist will be keeping warm with other music fans at some great shows this week. Phil (the groundhog) may have seen his shadow, making for 6 more weeks of winter, but these six weeks should sizzle with sound. More good shows coming up from now through March.

Tuesday 2/7
Amina and Sigur Ros will elevate Orpheum-goers to otherworldly destinations. (Our Sigur Ros contest ends 2/7 too.)

Wednesday 2/8
It would be a sin to miss dios (malos) as they ride through Boston on a cloud of heavenly smoke. They’re at Paradise with fellow OC-chosen popsters Matt Pond PA. Seriously, Bostonist recommends arriving early for maximum pleasure.

Thursday 2/9 (LOCAL!)
Bostonist is keeping tabs on Great Scott in Allston. They've been treating us to some excellent shows as of late. Tonight they are offering the promising local popsmiths, Mittens.

Friday 2/10
Dust off that poncho or co-ed naked drinking t-shirt from your college memory box and anticipate reworkings of the “Star-spangled Banner” as Seeking Homer celebrates their ten-year anniversary at Paradise Lounge. (British invaders Supergrass are in the Rock Club.)

Saturday 2/11
Feist returns on her own, well without the Broken Social Scene anyhow, this time she's coming to Paradise (another great Paradise show?!).

You forgot to mention that Feist is touring with Jason Collett, the man pretty much responsible for Broken Social Scene. Collett is opening for her in support of his solo debut. And only one local show looks promising to you? So sad, where is the local support?

Calistan - keep your eyes peeled for more local music features via interview. next week we will be featuring an interview with boy in static....
