We knew it was that time of the year when we saw them all huddled together at the Hynes Convention Center T stop, shouting something about “Thin Mints.” Of course our ears perked up and before we knew it, we had shelled out $16.00 for two boxes of Shortbreads and two boxes of “Caramel Delites” (which used to be called “Samoas” back in the day). Yes, we are currently in full swing for the three month long Girl Scout cookie sale, which to Bostonist, seems to be based out of the T stations. Gone are the days of staking out a neighborhood and going door-to-door in that a la Troop Beverly Hills style. If you want your cookies, check out this list to see where the Scouts will be located. According to Girl Scout Headquarters, the Thin Mints comprise 25 percent of their total cookie sales and 5 of the top 10 cookies sold in the U.S. are in fact Girl Scout Cookies.
As you can see, Bostonist has a soft spot for these Girl Scout cookies and spent a few years going door-to-door, wearing a sash full of patches, and hoping that the old lady on the corner would buy at least two boxes instead of the usual one. If you are obsessed with the Scouts as well, why not head over to the Fairmont Copley tonight for “An Evening of Cookie Creations”? This fundraiser will feature area chefs from places like Bonfire, Radius, and Great Bay as they create some fabulous desserts all using Girl Scout cookies, which of course you get to sample. Tickets are $50, which sounds a bit high when compared to the price of a box of cookies, but the proceeds all go to the Patriots’ Trail Council, which serves 26,000 girls in the Greater Boston area. The event is from 6-8p.m. and you can buy tickets at the door. (No word if you get a "Fundraising Event" patch if you attend.)

The Thin Mint is only coated on the top - not the entire cookie? This is an outrage....
