Interestingly, something not mentioned in the post was the statement in the Globe article that family members of the honoree&apos;s were sometimes territorial, keeping their stars&apos; stars clean, getting upset when they were dirty. 

I hear Yo-Yo Ma sleeps with his Tower records star now.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

<description>&lt;p&gt;I haven&apos;t been to the Virgin Megastore on the corner of Mass Ave &amp; Newbury St, but Tower Records used to have a small sidewalk of fame there, where the names of local recording artists who made the big time  were featured. Your mention of NKOTB reminded me of that, because I believe their name (collectively not individually) was in one of the stars.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
