One-Year Anniversary Party: The Aftermath

Thanks to everyone that came out to Bostonist’s one-year anniversary party on Saturday. Sarah at Like Life Boston was a great help in with the planning of the event, Emily Easterly and Hugo gave great performances. A special thanks to the folks at Harpoon for making sure the IPA was flowing a bit more freely during the event, and the people at the Kinsale that served us well all evening.

We giggled a bit when we opened up the Sidekick on Saturday morning to find oursleves listed. It was the result of the equation; blogs are “in” therefore Saturday’s blog-sponsored party is the in party. We’ll take it, even with the typo in the line “who urger you to come out from behind the monitor.” Our grammar can get ugly and our spelling certainly isn’t top notch. Don't worry we’ll urger you again sometime soon.

Arrivals began at around start time of 8 p.m., of course many decided to be fashionably late. The cake was ready, the kegs were tapped, and after the bands went through a rather painful bout of feedback the party was in full swing. We were glad to meet some readers, some Flickr contacts, and even a few tipsters self-identified themselves. A line formed around 8:45 p.m. as the Kinsale hit capacity, cosily inside Bostonist heard reports that at one point it was at least 40 people deep. Next time we’re choosing a bigger venue – and given the good time everyone seemed to have we’ll hope to hold something in the near future. If you made it out to join us on Saturday: Thanks.
