Fenway Parking Continues to be Expensive
Just as the arrival of snow resurrects the endless debate over whether it's OK to block off spaces with lawn furniture, so the arrival of baseball brings its own cause for griping: Parking around Fenway continues to be insanely expensive.
You may recall that toward the end of last season, there seemed to be some political will to remedy the price-gouging problem around the park. Apparently, that has all come to nought. What Bostonist said then is what we'll say again now to all the people, like the unidentified woman who complained to the Herald about getting "hosed": Park farther out and take the goddamn T. Our cousins who live in Boxford always park at Sullivan Square and take the train in with their two kids, and they swear by it; Brookline (which isn't even that far from the park) has free two-hour street parking! Sure, a ballgame lasts longer than two hours, but even the ticket you might get will cost you less than parking in a lot. Come on, people! Unless you're genuinely disabled, you don't need to drive right up to the ballpark, and by doing so, you make it harder for the people who are disabled. So stop complaining, get on the T, and let the Herald get back to the business of reporting on poop-related crime and cat wheelchairs.
