When watching the Boston Marathon each year, we feel inspired by all the runners making the long, arduous journey from Hopkinton to Boston. We continue to dream, but running a marathon probably isn't in out future. Thankfully, we can live vicariously through Peter and Eliza's audio training travelogue, the Marathon Minute.
This podcast is a record of two people training for the Boston Marathon. Listening to the podcast means listening to discussions of training, and maybe more interesting, listening in on recordings made while training. As such, the recordings include quite a bit of ambient noise, but that is to be expected. In fact, it almost makes you think that you are there training with them... well, if Bostonist weren't sitting on the sofa sipping a pint of Guinness, that is.
Despite the fact that this is about two people training for the Boston Marathon, any runner or aspiring runner would be able to relate and enjoy. Even those that aren't inclined towards running, there are interesting stories and anecdotes that are sure to amuse. Again, the audio quality might not be the greatest, but the show is sure to inspire and delight. Bostonist might even put down the beer and grab some running shoes. Well, maybe next time.
