Bostonist’s inbox is always filled with random press releases, announcing the “hottest food trend in Boston” (in case you didn’t know, it’s tapas) or the chance to interview some “hot band from Kansas City” in town at the Middle East. So this afternoon, a few e-mails trickled in, with one from Match Burgers and Martinis sticking out among the bunch. Bostonist first ventured over to Match when it opened this past fall and had a so-so experience with a poorly made $8 vodka tonic but was impressed by the wall of fire nonetheless. We can’t tell if business is down or the owners just love ligers, but their latest contest involves winning a dream date dinner with Pedro from “Napoleon Dynamite.” Just toss a business card in a box next time you’re in Match and you could possibly have a date this Friday, April 21. Now, Bostonist needs to know: would we be having dinner with the actor, Efren Ramirez, or would he stay in character as Pedro? (Match is promoting the event with “having dinner with Pedro.”)
And is it gauche to wear the “Vote for Pedro” tee when having dinner with Pedro?

The "Vote for Pedro" shirts were gauche the minute they were printed, and will only acceptable when worn by Mets fans in the month preceding the all-star game.
