One Nation...One Annoying Network

Bostonist has been watching all the Sox games recently and we have to admit that we are surprised by a few things. Youkilis has definitely been stepping it up from last season's performance on the field and although Coco is on the sidelines in a splint, we can't wait until he takes center field again. (Don't even get us started on the newest Sox tees to hit Yawkey Way (Chocolate brown "Red Sox" logo on the front, with "Coco" on the back. What will these marketing geniuses think of next?!))

nesn_us.jpgBut Bostonist has just about had it with NESN. Sure, Rem Dawg and the gang are somewhat entertaining at times, but the network HAS to stop airing that cheesy, badly staged commercial where they "interview" average Sox fans across the city. They highlight each stereotypical fan (are all Sox fans caucasian?) out there, including a man getting an old fashioned shave in the barber's chair, some hottie bartender from a Faneuil Hall establishment, and a local firefighter. Oh, and let's not forget the superfan with the Boston accent who LIVES for the Sox! This commercial, which touts NESN's slogan of "One Nation, One Network", has some of the worst "acting" Bostonist has seen in awhile and it doesn't help that the commercial airs during each break from the game. The Yankees haven't even visited Fenway yet this season, but we have to ask, please stop running the spot...or at least make it a bit more believable!
