For pretty fantastic cupcakes, you gotta try that new place in the North End, Lulu's Bake Shoppe. It's not Italian at all; serves mainly retro desserts (including the aforementioned killer cupcakes).

i'm totally with you on generating false excitement with the exterior graphics! although some might say that cupcakes are "so last year", i was excited about someone cashing in and bringing those sweet little icing-topped pillows here in Boston. (another) funky t-shirt store? joy. [disgusted sigh]
