Bostonist wonders if we’re the only one that caught the Metro’s mistake in yesterday’s edition. Ok, ok, one of the errors in yesterday's edition – the free daily contains almost as many problems as you'll find on this site. Yesterday on page 2, the headline in the right-hand column reads "Snelgrove remembered at Northeastern commencement". The article, however, tells us about how Victoria Snelgrove, the Emerson student fatally shot (with a "less lethal" pepper pellet) by Boston police during the Red Sox victory riots in 2004, was honored at the 2006 Emerson College commencement, the year she would have graduated.
Bostonist wonders if this was the Metro making an “ass” out of “u” and me, well, “themselves.” We realize that Northeastern students have been known to riot, and that there have been accidents in the vicinity of the Northeastern campus. We also think the association that many Bostonians make between NU and rioting is overblown. NU is no worse than its less covered counterparts, namely BU and BC. Bostonist hopes it was an honest mistake, but if you're going to just rip content off of the Boston Globe, fair with the ownership deal - the story is from “Boston Globe News” – you could at least rip it off accurately. Wherever the blame may lie, we will be looking for a correction.

Ed. note: The Metro printed a correction on Page 2 of today's edition - on which we've again called shenanigans. This time for their incompetence with some basic facts and not because, well, they're just a shill for advertisers. The author of this post notes that they still haven't apologized to the Snelgroves - just using the tradgedy of death for profit.

Finally, somebody in this town with some sense!
