Water Main Break Screws Up Commute

greenlinemap.jpgBostonist advises to stay the hell away from the C-line today if at all possible. Last night on our way home around 9p.m., we heard word of a water main break in Beacon Hill. Well, it turns out our anonymous (incorrect) source got it wrong and it was actually on Beacon Street in Brookline. Let the shuttle busing begin! Starting last night and now into this morning, there are no C-line trains on the Green Line. Shuttle buses pick you up along Beacon Street dropping you off at Kenmore Station (and vice versa if you are going outbound). From the looks of the chaos taking place this morning on the tracks at Hawes and Beacon Street, with a pipe bigger than our living room waiting to be placed in the ground, this might take the mighty MBTA a while to fix.

Would anyone like to take bets if this will be fixed by 5p.m. today? Anyone?

UPDATE: A Brookline officer informed us that they're hoping to finish up by tomorrow at 7a.m.
