The heat of the summer is fully upon us and the time has come for fruits and vegetables to come from local farms with a delicious freshness. Not everything has come into season here in Massachusetts, you'll still have to wait a while before the butter & sugar corn is ready to eat. Farmers' Markets have started up and are hawking everything from tomatoes to locally farmed Honey (and all those other things you don't expect to find at a farmers' market like textiles and ceramics.)
We recently stumbled upon a list of farmers' markets that have registered with the state. The list is certainly not comprehensive – we know of a couple rogue markets that don't appear on the list. Most of the markets included on the list have already started up or will start up in the next two weeks and run into the early fall. A surprising number of them accept WIC coupons for payment, which is good – the more WIC eligible folks who support struggling farmers the better, it's a circle of life of sorts. Unlike the messiness that is Haymarket most of the Massachusetts Farmers' Markets are clean and offer a wide range of organic products for those seeking them out. Bostonist can report from experience that there are some wicked good strawberries at most of the local markets that are certainly in season and delicious.
While Flickr user Crystl is not actually photographing a Boston-area market the image demonstrates the same thing you're likely to find in your neighboorhood farmers' market.

I saw this list in the Phoenix organized by city:

I can't be bothered with anything these days, but such is life. I don't care. So it goes. More or less nothing seems worth thinking about. I've just been hanging out waiting for something to happen, but that's how it is.
