Itty Bitty Ice Cream Cones

icecreamlogo.gifThe first day of summer has finally passed and the ice cream season is in full swing. While we've already hit up Emack and Bolios, J.P. Licks, and Toscanini's, we are all ready to kick it up a notch in our ice cream consumption. So when we heard about a mini ice cream party this Sunday in Inman Square, we RSVP'ed "yes" immediately.

danaicecream1111-low.jpgBoston's own chocolate guru, Dana Zemack, is the chocoholic behind the website, The Tasty Show, which focuses on all aspects of the cocoa stuff. When she's not teaching chocolate education at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education, Zemack also hosts chocolate tasting parties (who needs Tupperware?) and starring in her own community television show. While she's busy with all that, she is also hosting this mini ice cream party. Joining forces with her Tasty Show cohort, Andrew Urbanetti, sous chef at Lumiere Restaurant, the team will be making homemade ice cream cones, with ice cream from Christina's and soda from Mercury Brewing Company (when was the last time you had an ice cream soda?)

While Zemack hasn't finalized the ice cream menu just yet, there's talk of the following cream-cone combinations and they sound delish: fresh rose ice cream in a honey cone, avocado ice cream in a lemon cone, creme fraiche ice cream in a raspberry cone, and fresh mint ice cream in a chocolate cone.

Bring on the cones...

The tasting party is this Sunday, June 25 from 7-9p.m. at The Lilypad, 1353 Cambridge Street, Cambridge. There is a $15 suggested donation at the door.

"hosts chocolate tasting parties (who needs Tupperware?)"

Who needs Tupperware indeed. Not sure if you mean no one needs anymore tupperware, now with the invention of those wonderful gladware and ziplock containers you can pick up at the supermarket - or who needs tupperware because at a chocolate tasting party there certainly won't be any leftovers. Both statement interpretations are probably true. mmmm, chocolate!
