Beat the Heat with a Slurpee

2222711_slurpee_d.jpgIt's July 11, 2006. The way we jot down the date at the top of our notes in staff meeting this morning is 7/11. Woah, 7/11 – like the home of the tasty frozen soda treat the Slurpee. On a Hazy, Hot, and Humid day with temperatures inching ever closer to the 90-degree mark we can think of few things better than a Slurpee. A free Slurpee would certainly be better. Today your local 7-11 delivers, head over and grab a freebie, the giveaway size is smaller than anything they normally offer (and in most stores is only available while the special cups last). Even though it is only enough ounces of frozen goodness to whet your appetite you could take the chance and finally discover what flavor the pale green "Superman Slurpee" actually resembles. We're not sure if the US convenience store chain has made it to other parts of the world, but our European friends are likely scratching their heads as to why 11-7 is a specail date for the home of the all-american Big Gulp.

OK this post is just silly!

Silly, maybe, but apparently not valid here anyway. The valiant reporters at DCist found that the offer is only good in Canada, Texas, and Florida.
