Wednesday Webcast Review: Without a Curse

As you know, its the halfway point in the baseball season and Bostonist's favorite team is in a good position. We are always looking for a new webcast to listen to and during this All-Star break, we thought we would take a look at the Without a Curse podcast.

The Without a Curse podcast is hosted by Alex Reimer. Alex shows that he has a passion for baseball, a passion for the Red Sox, and is quite knowledgeable when it comes to America's favorite past time. Unfortunately, it seems as though he wants you to know "he is a natural" and a "phenom" and includes a fairly long homage to himself. Bostonist thinks he should let his show speak for itself instead.

When the show is allowed to speak for itself, what does it say? Quite honestly, it says that this is a pretty good sports show. The show is a long opinion and rant show that has many moments of amusement. You will sometimes agree and sometimes disagree with Alex's assessment of things, but most of the time you will enjoy listening.

The sound quality is quite good. This kid sounds like he has been doing this for a while, and in the world of podcasting, he is actually considered a seasoned veteran. We think that all other podcasters with sub-standard sound quality should take notice. All it takes is a little time and a whole lot of passion and motivation. Alex proves this and that he quite possibly could have a future in sports broadcasting.

Like we stated earlier, we hate having to hear the all hail Alex introduction to the show. Quite honestly, we wouldn't feel too bad should the podcast introduction find it itself at the bottom of the Charles River with a new pair of cement shoes.
