Wednesday Webcast Review: Extra Points

extrapoints.jpgAre you ready for some football? Rather, are you ready for a fantasy football podcast? If you answered yes, then this week's webcast review is just up your alley. Bostonist likes participating in the occasional fantasy football league. Unfortunately, despite coming close, we have yet to win (although, by the amount of smack-talk we spew, you might think we had). Given our track record, we can use all the help we can get. Thankfully, a locally produced podcast provides just what we need to (hopefully) get over the hump and win this year: Extra Points.

The Extra Points podcast dishes up the latest gridiron news to help you manage your fantasy football team. Not only do they talk draft strategy, trade strategy, and waiver wire strategy. But, they devote a large portion of their show to answering listener questions. This means Bostonist can pose questions such as, "Who do I start this week, Julius Jones or Cedric Benson?" and Steve or Scott will actually answer (if not on the show, often by email) and they will do it well.3-50_4244.gif

The shows are fun to listen to if you enjoy football and especially so if you enjoy fantasy football. The duo often manage to include amusing asides concerning their personal fantasy football teams. Often coming through crystal clear is just how much fun and, quite often, how frustrating fantasy football can be. But, this is why we love the game. It's a challenging endeavor that relies heavily on strategy and planning and also quite a bit on dumb luck.

We admit, we don't listen to this podcast during the off-season, but now that the new season is upon us, this podcast will find its way back on to the iPod. We would recommend you do the same, unless you are playing in a league with us, that is.
